Check-in Baggage

Checked Baggage

What is Check-in Baggage?

Check-in baggage refers to items handed over during the check-in process to be placed in the aircraft's cargo hold, within the specified guidelines. Depending on the class of the purchased airline ticket and type of flight package, passengers can purchase additional baggage allowance, in addition to the baggage allowance included on the ticket.

Check-in baggage is securely transported in the aircraft's cargo hold under the airline's care. There are specific guidelines for items carried by the airline, and we kindly ask all passengers to adhere to these rules. For details on Pegasus' checked baggage conditions of carriage, please see our General Rules page.

If you have items that do not comply with these rules, please note that this baggage will not be allowed on board. To ensure a hassle-free journey, we recommend checking the rules for both cabin and check-in baggage online after purchasing your ticket.

What Rules Apply to Check-in Baggage?

For passengers preparing for domestic or international flights, it is important to observe both item and weight limitations. It should be noted that items exceeding 32 kg, in accordance with IATA standards and SHGM regulations, will not be accepted in the aircraft's cargo hold. In instances where passengers surpass the specified checked baggage allowance indicated on their flight ticket, additional baggage fees will be charged. Should your baggage exceed the allowed weight, additional baggage allowance can be purchased. Pegasus strictly adheres to legal regulations concerning check-in baggage. We strongly discourage the inclusion of items with significant financial or sentimental value in check-in baggage. In situations of loss or damage, Pegasus accepts no liability beyond the stipulated limits. For more information on these limits, please see Section 13, "Warnings Regarding Carrier Liability" on our General Rules page.

What Items Cannot be Carried in the Cargo Hold?

The primary regulation for items being carried in the aircraft's cargo hold pertains to flammable materials. Flammable materials cannot be carried as cabin baggage or in under-seat bags on passenger aircraft.

Materials containing compressed gases, such as spray products that may be affected by pressurized environments, are not allowed on board the aircraft.

Explosive materials are not permitted in the cargo hold of passenger aircraft. Liquid fuels are also prohibited. Furthermore, items such as fire extinguishers, acids, alkalis, or radioactive materials are strictly prohibited from being brought on board the aircraft.

For further information on Pegasus baggage rules and its limits, please check (9.5 Baggage Restrictions) on the General Rules section.
