The public transport options to/from the Oman Muscat International Airport are limited with buses and a free shuttle. In addition to buses and free airport shuttle, it is possible to take a taxi, rent a car or book a private transfer service to reach Muscat city centre.

Travelling in Oman is relatively limited since there is only one option: taking the bus. Public transport in Oman does not consist of trains, metro lines, or other types of transportation. Buses in Muscat

Mwasalat is the primary transportation provider in Muscat, which offers city buses to travel around the city. There are 12 lines and 478 bus stops that cover the entire city of Muscat. The major lines in the city are as follows:

Bus line 1 follows Ruwi Bus Station - Al Mabilah Bus Station route, connected to Bus line 2, which goes between Ruwi Bus Station - Wadi Al Kabir. In addition to that, Bus line 4 and bus line 5 leaves from Ruwi to Muttrah - Muscat and Al Amerat, respectively. Bus line 6 operates on Al Khoud - Burj Al Sahwa route, while Bus line 7 operates on Al Mabilah Bus Station - Al Khoud - Burj Al Sahwa route. Bus line 8 also leaves from Burj Al Sahwa Station to Al Khuwayr. Bus line 9 follows the Al Athaiba Bus Station - Misfa Industrial Área route, while Bus line 10 has a more comprehensive route which follows Al Mabilah - Al Seeb Souq - Al Mawalih South - Burj Al Sahwa. Bus line 12 starts from Burj Al Sahwa to Hay Al Irfan and Al Khuwayr route. Bus line A1 is a helpful line to reach the Muscat International Airport from Al Mabilah Bus Station - Muscat Int'l Aiport route. Also, there is a short line: Bus AM1 for Al Mouj - Muscat City Center route.

Is there a tourist travel card in Oman?

There is no travel card for tourists in Oman. Tourists need to buy bus tickets to use the bus to travel between Oman Muscat International Airport and the city centre.
