The Bodrum International Dance Festival brings hundreds of dancers who have been working on their performances for months together with dance fans. For the last four years, this festival has crowned itself with the UNESCO logo and carved out its name amongst the biggest dance festivals in Europe. Dancers from a multitude of countries, from Cuba to Poland, Russia to France, make the festival into a multi-cultural celebration With its legions of dance groups, including both young and old, the Bodrum International Dance Festival will once more make the same point it has been making for years: that religion, language and race don't matter; what matters is dance. Watching the regional costumes of the dancers flying in the historical ambience of Bodrum Castle gives the festival a special atmosphere, but don’t let this mislead you into thinking that the festival is limited to the walls of this old castle. An award-winning photograph competition, along with displays and walks organised around the streets of Bodrum, show that the festival has become too big for Bodrum Castle.
